Military Carbine Trainer Course

Similar to but shorter than MSAIC, MCTC is a purpose-built training and education program designed to provide commanders with expert trainers in their NCO ranks. It uses different modes and domains of learning, strategies pulling from multiple adult learning theories, and is nested with the Army Learning Concept and Army Learning Model. MCTC produces rifle/carbine trainers but is not solely designed to build organizational skill at arms. The course structure develops competencies that are easily transferrable to any skill the NCO needs to teach his or her subordinates, using the familiar and core task of weapons proficiency as a vehicle. MCTC is nested with current Army doctrine, with the culmination exercise fully supported by allocations set in Standards in Training Commission (STRAC), DA PAM 350-38.

Course Outcomes:

Increased capability to teach, coach, and mentor subordinates.

Conditions set for increased skill across the organization through NCOs professionally prepared to develop and conduct training and education programs on any required skill.

Deep understanding of rifle/carbine capabilities and employment.

Increased marksmanship skills across the formation in simple and complex engagements from 0-600 meters.

Increased weapons handling and manipulation skills. Standardized exportable training regimen for use within the organization.
